Granite is such a versatile material that it can be used for any number of projects, in various places around your home or business. When homeowners want to make an impression using materials unlike anyone else’s, they often use granite in unexpected places.

The most obvious place where people have granite installed is on countertops. They are a great place to start when giving a space a premium appeal. Countertops are perfect places for granite because people tend to gather in or regularly use places with counters, like kitchens and bathrooms. Plus, in these spaces they’re extremely useful thanks to their hardness, resistance to damage and tolerance of heat.

Fireplace granite

While countertops are the obvious choice for a place to use granite, we’ve seen some pretty creative uses outside of this. The second most popular place to add the stone is around a fireplace installation. Again, thanks to the natural heat resistance of granite, this is a perfect application that can also help to protect the safety of your home. Most people aren’t as concerned about the safety as they are the look – and the granite around a fireplace helps transform the look and feel of a space.

If you’re into breaking with convention, there are also any number of other applications for granite. We think some of the best looking installations are actually just outside the home, in an outdoor kitchen. Although it will require a little extra maintenance, it’s worth it for the same reasons you want granite inside the home, it’s the best looking material out there and it’s likely going to last for the entire life of the home. Granite can also make long-lasting and interesting flooring, and can be installed in squares just like patio pavers. One could even use granite to replace the top of a dresser, giving it an updated, unique look.

The list of potential uses is about a mile long, but as granite installation professionals, we help customers finish any project (and usually we help them make it even better than they thought it would end up originally!). Be creative, think outside the box and we’ll help you turn your vision into a reality.
